Sustainability White Papers

Missouri Votes Conservation believes it is important that Missourians be well educated on the myriad issues that impact the environment. Not only are many of these issues complex, but they require an extensive examination of reputable sources to achieve a fair and accurate understanding.

MVC is proud to offer a series of Sustainability White Papers that cover a wide variety of environmental topics. These essays have been meticulously researched and written over the past year by one of our board members, John May. His one-page papers provide succinct, thorough information, written in an easy-to-read style. The papers do not focus on specific legislation facing Missouri's legislature, but rather explain the background science and public policy history on topics such as coal, human population issues, bio-fuels, renewable energy, climate change, and other sustainability issues. Though the issues addressed are of national scope and interest, John also includes, where possible, discussions of how the topics affect Missouri. We are thankful John has allowed MVC to publish these Sustainability White Papers, and we hope you find them useful and interesting.

We have organized the Sustainability White Papers according to topic. Additional topics and papers will be added to our web site over time. Please select any topic you would like from the list below, and feel free to download the PDF files and print them (you will need Adobe Acrobat to view them, which you can download here).
